What is a hot flash?
Hot flash or other’s say “hot flush” is a very common symptom that women feel before or during the early menopausal stage. Although ordinarily, this is the first sign in perimenopausal women, not all females may experience hot flashes. When they do, the feeling is characterized by warmth spreading over the body from the head and neck areas.

As the prefix peri- means “near or around”, then perimenopause is the time when a woman is near its natural transition from fertility to infertility stage. When a woman reaches 35 years old, an observable rise and fall in the hormonal level of her estrogen will naturally occur.

Herbal remedies are more popularly sought to ease menopausal hot flashes. Women like natural remedies whenever possible.
Hormone therapy can be recommended when necessary. This will mean solve the problem of drop in estrogen or progesterone level which causes hot flashes.
Of course, medicines can be taken although doctors are always wary about giving oral medications against hot flashes. As the symptom is naturally occurring in women, prescribing any drug for menopause may not be healthy in the long run.
